Dorothy (Robinson) Ludlam Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Ludlam, age 94 of White Bear Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at Prelude of White Bear Lake on August 28, 2025. She was born on March 2, 1931, in Holland, MI, to Thomas and Gertrude (Boot) Robinson, and grew up in Benton Harbor. She graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1949 and from Michigan State College in 1953 with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She was a longtime member of St. John Catholic Church in Benton Harbor and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Allegan, MI. Dorothy was blessed to be a member of a very large and extended family that she loved dearly, and if you were lucky enough, you were able to join her at her favorite place, the family cottage in Holland. On June 29, 1957, she married R. Joseph (Joe) Ludlam, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Dory (Ludlam) Lassiter and son-in-law Kim Lassiter, and by her six sisters and three brothers and their spouses. Survivors include four children: Mike (Heather) Ludlam of Hopkins, MI; Bob (Jill) Ludlam of Naperville, IL; Karen (Stan) Hokanson of Hugo, MN; Jay (Holly) Ludlam of Chicago, IL; her twelve grandchildren Ryan Lassiter, Rachel (Josh) Cummings, Hallie Lassiter, Samantha (Chase) Bos, Xander (Joseph) Ludlam, Joe Ludlam, John (Ashley) Ludlam, Kristin (Mike) Vitello, Kate (John) Theisen, Steve Hokanson, Hannah Ludlam, Joni Ludlam and four great grandchildren; and by many members of her extended, close, and loving family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Michigan at a future date along with a celebration of life for Dorothy and her whole generation of brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Readiness Center, 530 Columbus Ave., Benton Harbor, MI 49022
