Dorothy Lueth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by David Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jan. 6, 2026.
Dorothy Ann Lueth (née Holt) passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. Known for her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength, Dorothy lived a life that set an example for all who knew her.
Born on May 15, 1935, in Castle Rock, Minnesota, Dorothy was the second of two daughters born to George and Margaret Holt. She grew up in Winona, where she later met her husband, Robert Lueth, at Winona State College. Together, they raised five children, explored the U.S., Germany, and Scandinavia, and shared a love of music. Dorothy had a generous heart for children. She was a devoted mom of five, a proud "Gram" of ten, and a joyful "Great Gram" of eleven. One of her greatest pleasures was taking each grandchild on a special teenage trip-either to New York or San Francisco-creating memories they still cherish. A lifelong educator, she spent most of her career teaching elementary school and later delighted in rocking babies during her years working in daycare.
Though she enjoyed being involved, Dorothy often chose to serve quietly in the background. She was active in every church she attended-singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, helping with weddings and funerals, providing treats after services, and faithfully attending Bible studies. Since moving to RidgePoint Senior Living in 2008, she served on the Resident Council and helped organize teams of greeters, offering hospitality in her signature gentle way. Dorothy treasured time with family and friends. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and she showed up for every concert, game, and recital she could-always in the crowd, beaming with pride.
She is survived by her children: Bob (Angela) Lueth, Bill (Wendy) Lueth, Jon (Tammy) Lueth, and Carole (Tom) Reycraft. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her daughter, Ann Johnson.
Dorothy leaves us with lessons in faith, family, humor, kindness, and the simple healing power of a good piece of pie-or a donut from Bloedow's bakery.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 2 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's honor to Little Hospice at littlehospice.org/donate.
