On December 23, 1931, a daughter was born to the Late Lucille Brannon and Holsey Reed, in Titus County, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, whom they named Dorothy Louise Reed.
She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, at Sheppard Street Church of Christ. Dorothy Louise later moved to Houston, Texas, after the death of her Mom and was raised by her Aunt Carrie Brannon in the Third Ward area. She attended Jack Yates High
School, there she met and married the love of her life Murphy Malone on June 11, 1949. (Sixty-four and a half years (64 ½) of marriage). To this glorious union seven children were born.
Mother Malone was a faithful member of First Brook Cedron, MBC as the President of the Usher Board from 1975 until her health began to fail.
On March 27, 2025, at 10:17pm, the Lord called his child home to take her rest. Mother Malone was preceded in death by her father, mother; husband, Murphy Malone, Sr.; two sons, Hosley and Tommie Malone; two grandsons, Michael Ray and Ali Lamont Scott.
Mother Malone is survived by Melba, Murphy, Jr. (Gwen), Shiriley (Clarence), Dennis (Brenda), Barbara (Charles), (9) grandchildren, (23) great-grandchildren, (8) great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the First Brook Cedron Missionary Baptist
Church Family.
