Dorothy "Dot" Mansko, age 69, was born on December 15, 1953 in Sallis, Mississippi to Nora Stewart, Jr. and Jeanetta (Young) Stewart.
Dorothy was a born-again Christian who loved and lived for the Lord. She departed this life and transitioned to the heavenly realm on August 1, 2023.
She graduated from McAdams High School in McAdams, MS in 1972. She then went on to major in Elementary Education at Alcorn State University (formerly Alcorn A&M College) where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree on May 9, 1976. Dorothy was a member of Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian and dutiful missionary who lived her life to show God's incredible love through serving others. She enjoyed spending time reading God's Word every morning, singing in the choir, and attending various church functions.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to music, watching westerns and soap operas, decorating, and working in her flower bed. But her proudest life's work, was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert Stewart, Willie James Stewart, Michael Stewart, and Percy Chapman. Also preceded in death by her grandson, Tyreke Summage; special friends Maxine Johnson and Sandra Elston; as well as her special daughter, Starbrina Norman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of forty-four years, Leroy Mansko, Jr. of home, her sons Marcus Mansko of Newport, AR and Jermaine Mansko (Qwonketa) of Conway, AR, and daughter, Jasmine Mansko of Bryant, AR; brothers, Norah Stewart III (Georgia), Billy Stewart (Elouise), Carl Stewart, Ricky Stewart (Dyann), Marvin Stewart (Gloria), Mark Stewart (Bobbie); sisters, Bobby Balentine (Ernest-deceased), Eliece Rayborn (James), Alice Hart (Derwin), Annie Teague (Sullus), Jacqueline Holliday (Gregory), Simone Stewart, and Linda Sayles-Hamilton. Special thanks to Arkansas Hospice staff, Sharon Henry, Marilyn Bailey, and everyone who helped provide care for Dorothy and lighten the load for Leroy.
Dorothy will be greatly missed and always remembered.
Service will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 4:00 – 5:00 for the family and 5:00 – 7:00 for friends.
