Dorothy Marciniak passed away at home on September 2, 2025. She was born May 9, 1941 in St. Mary's, PA to Edward Krug and Clara Hasselman.

Dorothy married her husband, the late Dr. Francis Marciniak, in 1962. They raised three children together in Cumberland, RI. During that time, Dorothy was not only a devoted wife and mother, she was the parish secretary for St. John Vianney Church in Cumberland. Her home and church families thrived thanks to her hard work and loving care.

Dorothy was a creative and artistic person known for her crafts and decor. Her home was filled with needlepoint, handmade pillows, and other items she lovingly hand crafted. She was a skilled cook and baker. With her generous heart, Dorothy loved to give handcrafted items and baked goods as gifts. Dorothy was also a huge reader and could always be found with a book or audio book close at hand.

After moving to Narragansett, Dorothy spent many days with her friends from INSIGHT, an organization for the visually impaired. With her many friends she created ceramic artwork, discussed literature at book club, and enjoyed going out for meals.

Dorothy leaves behind her sister, Clara Bezek, of North Carolina. She also leaves behind her children, Craig Marciniak and his wife Pam, David Marciniak and his wife Mindy, and Andrew Marciniak and his wife Lisa, as well as her grandchildren, Alyssa Marciniak, Sarah Guida, Julie Marciniak, and AJ Marciniak. Dorothy will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Ellie Quinn, Rowan Quinn, Greyson Guida, and Alex Guida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9th at 10:00 am at St. Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Avenue, South Kingstown, RI 02879. Dorothy's family will receive friends at the Chapel from 9-10 am prior to the Mass.
