Dorothy E. McDermott

Dorothy E. McDermott, 91, of Carteret, died on Friday, February 23, 2024 at home peacefully. She was born in Jersey City, and had lived in Port Reading for most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Port Reading. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Mae and James Murray; her husband, Leo McDermott and her son, Michael McDermott. She is survived by her loving, children, Ronald McDermott and his wife, Lisa, Kenneth McDermott and Kathleen Dodds and her husband, James; her six grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Funeral will be on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 starting at 9 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Port Reading. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Iselin. Visitation will be on Monday, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
