To my sweet mother. You suffered more pain, anguish and heartache in your life than any single person deserves, especially during the last two years, and yet you lived your entire life with a grace and dignity that outshined the world! You lost your big brother when you were only 10, and then you lost your little sister when you were 18. You met the love of your life, married, and had a family, only to lose two sons (both much too young) by the time you were 43. But you endured, living by example, the strongest of which was remaining married to the love of your life for 73 years and nurturing a remarkable family including your three surviving children and their spouses, seven grandchildren (and their spouses), and sixteen great-grandchildren (with one more on the way) - all of whom are remarkable only because they were touched by you. You are truly an incredible and purely amazing woman.
You were not only the best mother ever, but simply the best human being. You lived a selfless life, always putting everyone and anyone else´s needs before your own, especially family members.
You will be missed dearly, every day. But we take solace in knowing that the undeserved and unfair suffering you endured over the past two years has come to a close and that you are finally at rest. We are also at peace knowing that you are finally back together with dad, Mark, Matty, your seven brothers and sisters, your 31 brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, too many nieces and nephews, and the many, many friends that all passed before you. Without a doubt all of them are surrounding you, enjoying your potica and blueberry pound cake, as you make all them smile and laugh through your incredible sense of humor!
