Rosauro Ablog

Rosauro Arrojo Ablog, 88, of Lake Bluff, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. Born in the Philippines to Damaso and Eulalia Ablog, Rosauro was a man of ambition and adventure who traveled the world in pursuit of the American Dream.
His career as a skilled aircraft mechanic took him from the hangars of United Airlines in San Francisco to the sands of Saudi Arabia, where he worked for Saudi Arabia Airlines. Upon retirement, Rosauro enjoyed life with his wife Lydia in both the Philippines and Las Vegas. He was captivated by the "glitter and glamor" of Vegas, where he enjoyed following horseracing, visiting the casinos, and testing his luck with the lottery.
A lifelong traveler and a man of deep movement, Rosauro remained active until his final days. Above all, he was a devoted Catholic who instilled a firm foundation of faith in his children. His love for his family was his greatest legacy, and he will be missed profoundly by all who knew him.
Rosauro is survived by his children: Emmanuel (Myleen), Luisito, Phaedra (John), Angelina (Frederick), Aristotle (Yvette) and Roselle (Oscar); his grandchildren: Nathan, L.J., Aaron (Nyn), John Paul, Jane, Lewis, Gillian, Christine(Joseph), Celes, Angel, Franchie, Alexa, Jae, Janross(Anna), and Kimberly; his great-grandchildren Sophia, Riley, and Athena. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Lydia and his 5 brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Rosauro will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday Jan 2nd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville, IL. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Sat. Jan 3rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave., Libertyville. Funeral info (847) 362-2626
