Dorothy Jean (Holland) Miller went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2023 at the age of 95.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always loved her family. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Evansville. She touched the lives of all those she met.
Dorothy was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. It was there she met and married her first husband Mark Arnold with whom she had two daughters, Carol and Linda. In 1952, she moved with her family to Evansville, Indiana. After the passing of her first husband, Dorothy married Earl Miller and moved to Chandler in 1974. After Earl passed in 2013, Dorothy moved in with her daughter Carolyn and her husband Tom. She lived with them until her passing.
Dorothy worked for 30 years as an oral surgeon assistant for doctors Whitehead, Pafflin, and Henry. She was also a long time member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lena Ford and Beulah Merchel; brother, Fred Holland; husband of 27 years, Mark Arnold; husband of 40 years, Earl Miller; daughter, Donna Miller; grandson, Gary Gillenwater Jr.; and by her great-grandson, Noah Meyer.
Dorothy is survived in death by daughters, Carolyn (Tom) Wolgamott and Linda Green; grandchildren, Lisa Duncan, April (Paul Castrup) Meyer, Crystal (Gordon) Stokes, Tommy (Melanie) Wolgamott, Matthew (Beth) Wolgamott, Ryan (Victoria) Green, and Erin (Donnie) Hoots; great-grandchildren, Preston Wilson, Zachary Remke, Caleb Remke, Anna Willson, Dallas Green, Dayne Green, Evelyn Meyer, Dominic Green, Brayden Castrup, and Nora Wolgamott.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Park Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 5401 Vogel Rd., Ste 740, Evansville, IN 47715.
The family would like to thank, Jenny, Jill and Clint from Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Michael Allen for their care and support of our mother, Dorothy.
