Dorothy Rebecca Nix, age 94 of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
Dorothy was born and raised in Barnesville, GA and attended Gordon College where she met her late husband, Johnny I. Nix, Jr, with whom she spent 65 years of marriage until his death in 2011. She was a past member of White Oak Hills Baptist Church and was a current member of Annistown Road Baptist Church. She spent the last several years at the Benton House of Grayson., a senior living community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny I. Nix, Jr, and her son Johnny I. Nix, III, sister Nell Odom, and brother Quinn Green.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Dennis and Lillian Nix; daughter in law, Barbara Nix; grandchildren, Rebecca Lee Nix, Jason Nix and wife Catryna, Joshua Nix and wife, Katy, Erin Nix King and husband, Matt, and Holly Nix; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Everyone that knew Dorothy will remember her as being a gracious and loving person - someone that was always willing to help and serve anyone in need.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:00PM at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Decatur, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 12Noon until 1:00P.M. at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory.
