Dorothy Jean Owens

Dorothy Jean Owens of Arcadia passed peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025. "Dot" was born in Fredericktown, Missouri on February 20, 1930 to Louis and Eula (Pannebecker) Robertson. She was raised by her maternal grandmother, Nettie Pannebecker.
On Christmas Eve 1950, Dot was united in marriage to Gene Owens who predeceased her in September 2023. From this union two sons were born: Mike Owens (Carolie) of St. Charles, Missouri and Tom Owens (Eileen) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri who survive. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jason, Ben, Erica, T.J., and Mandy as well as ten great grandchildren.
Dot owned and operated Owens Florist in Arcadia for more than forty years. Through the years we knew her as a square dancer, a hairdresser, an accomplished golfer, an organist, a bridge player, and a volunteer at the Iron County Medical Center. Perhaps her most admired trait was her role as a lifetime partner to her husband, Gene. She was his partner in business, his only true dance partner, and a tireless care giver.
