WATERFORD Dorothy L. Smith, 94, entered into eternal life Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital. She is once again reunited with her beloved husband, Anthony R. Smith who passed in 2016.
Born and educated in Cohoes, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Wrobel Mrozko. She worked in the telephone industry for over 40 years, beginning her career at NY Telephone which eventually became Verizon, and she retired as a supervisor.
Dorothy was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael's Church in Cohoes and a Jubilarian member of the Ladies Rosary Society for 63 years. She often spent time at the library, being a voracious reader, and enjoyed going on trips with her husband and senior citizen groups.
She had a heart of gold and will be remembered for her generous spirit; always willing to help those in need.
Dorothy is survived by her loving sister, Stacia Oreshan of Cohoes; by her nephews, Dennis Oreshan, Sr. (Dorothy) of Cohoes and Ronald Oreshan (Berna) of Tucson, AZ and by her very best friend, Jane Gebosky of Cohoes. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John Mrozko
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Monday from 5-8 p.m.
