Dorothy Meade Taylor, 89, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Dorothy was born October 21, 1935 in Delbarton, WV to the late Nancy Curry.
Dorothy was a great mother and she loved to cook for people, especially candies and cakes. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Meade, Jr.; daughters Judy Carol Meade, Cynthia Dillman, and Mary Meade; sisters Odessa Curry, Wanda McDaniel, Joanne Abrams, and Madeline Conley; brothers Bert Curry and Lincoln Curry; son in law Bobby Nelson; and daughter in law Pam Meade.
Survivors include her husband Ralph Taylor; daughters Elizabeth Nelson and Debora (Billy) Zeek; son Ivan B. Meade; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Tressie Keen; brother Paul Curry; sons in law Pat Dillman and Dan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Andy Hardwick officiating. Friends may visit the family Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Taylor and her family.
