Dorothy Louise Temples, a beloved resident of Blakely, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on February 9th, 1931, in Blakely, Georgia, Dorothy lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.
A devoted homemaker, Dorothy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in gardening and growing beautiful flowers. Her home was a testament to her love for housekeeping and her family, where she created a warm and welcoming environment for all who visited.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ashley Hill Temples Jr., her parents, Edmond and Mary Ellen Temples, and her siblings, John Henry Temples, Frank Temples, Willie J. Temples, Viola Jenkins, Attene Davis, Lucile Riley, and Irene Taylor. Her legacy continues through her children, Butch Paul (Darlene) of Dawson, GA, Mike Temples (Diane) of Jakin, GA, and Jay Temples of Blakely, GA. She was a proud grandmother to Jim Paul, William Ashley Temples III (Brittany), and Diana Michelle McPherson (Jamie), and a cherished great-grandmother to Hunter Gage Bramer, Cheyenne Sidney Temples, William Tate Temples, and Lilly Wernick.
Dorothy's life was enriched by her furry best friend, Bubbles, and the compassionate care provided by Brittany Davis and the ladies at Centerwell Visiting Nurses.
A funeral service to honor Dorothy's life will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Sterling Jones. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the same location. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will include Ashley Temples, Craig Gordon, Ricky Langley, Jay Sealy, Tim Craft, and Stan Sealy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, who have provided compassionate care and support to the family during this difficult time.
Dorothy Louise Temples will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and her dedication to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will be cherished by all who knew her.
