     Dorothy Emelia Timonen Kiiskila, 88, born April 10, 1935, and passed away November 19, 2023, at Canal View -- Houghton County in Hancock, Michigan, where she was a resident patient since June 2023.

     Dorothy was also a resident of Tapiola, Michigan.

     Her parents were Charles and Emelia (Hyypio) Herrala of Tapiola.

     Also preceding her in death were her husband Reino Timonen of 47 years, son Daniel Timonen, and son-in-law Donald Harry. 

     Surviving Dorothy are her children: Mark (Ruth) Timonen of Tapiola, Maryann Harry of Appleton, Wisconsin, Susanna (Tim) Gaffin of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rebekah (Rick) Kasprzak of Calumet, Michigan, and Timothy (Karen) Timonen of Tapiola; her daughter-in-law: Kathy Timonen of Texas.  Dorothy has fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

     A celebration of her life memorial service will take place at the Doelle Senior Citizen Center in Tapiola, Michigan, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm.

     A spring interment and memorial service will take place at the Elo Cemetery in Late May 2024.

     The family wishes to thank the staff at Canal View for their kindness and care of Dorothy.

      In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to the Doelle Senior Center c/o 13875 Jurmu Rd., Baraga, MI 49908, in Dorothy's honor.
