Dorothy Mae Watson Donar was born in Campbellton, FL on November 28, 1936, to the late D.W. and Luzanier Watson. Dorothy later moved to Panama City, FL where she married her loving and devoted husband, William Donar who preceded her death in August 1981. Born to their union were five children: Gregory Donar (Debbie), Union City, GA, Ronald Donar (Linda), Panama City, FL, Yvonne Donar Goss (Andre), Panama City,FL, Myron Donar (Shavanda), Carrollton, GA, Karlarrious Donar (Brenda), Ocala, FL., Natorya Lacey (Granddaughter she raised) Tallahassee, FL. Dorothy has a host of grandchildren, Great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Dorothy worked in the Food Service field on Tyndall AFB and several businesses in Panama City. She later worked as a caretaker for the elderly for a local business and private families. For many years, she was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and served on many committees for the church. Dorothy later transferred her membership to Family of God Baptist Church and served on the following committees: Senior Adult Sunday School, Baptism Committee, Hospital and Food service, Choir, Usher Board, and various Outreach programs. Dorothy loved fishing, cooking, and hosting many family and friends gatherings.

Dorothy was also a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Preceded in death by the following siblings: Ethel Mae Ford, L.W. Watson, and Lillie Porter.

Survived by siblings: Hattie Ramsuer (Warren) Bowie, MD, Mayola Watson, Panama City, FL, Purla Eva Doster (Willie) Bowie, MD, James Watson, Sacramento, CA. Brother In Law: Paul Potter, Fayetteville, NC, Sisters In Law: Cora Donar (Panama City, FL), Liz Donar (Windsor, CT), Dorothy Donar (Hartford, CT), and Zola Williams (Denver, CO).

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor C. Dwight Woods officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 4, 2025, and from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service on Tuesday in the Hillside Cemetery.
