Dorothy Jean Wilkins of Ironton, MO, entered Heaven on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 27 days. She was born February 27, 1952, in Richwoods, MO, a daughter of William and Elga (Mahurin) Almo. On April 14, 1973, Dorothy was united in marriage to Everett John Wilkins who survives. Also surviving are three children, Chuck Spencer, Jr. and wife Donna, John Wilkins and wife Patricia, and Daniel Wilkins; seven grandchildren, Donald, Nicole, Makayla, Alexis, Terra, Dylan, and Zachary; 10 great-grandchildren, Charlie, Emitt, Alex, Ashlynn, Bella, Ryker, Elliana, Kyrie, Korbin, and Axel; two sisters, Margarert Eaves and Marsh K. Deragowski, and many more loving family members and friends. She is preceded in rest by a son Elzie "Spence" Spencer. Dorothy was no stranger to hard work. She had successful careers as a welder for Huffy Bicycles and while working for Brown Shoe Company. Once she left the workforce, she and John focused on raising their family with love and faith. She loved her children and grandchildren, showing them the true meaning of a mother's/grandmother's love. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and also attended Stouts Creek Baptist Church. Dorothy was a Christian through and through, and taught her family the strength of her faith. Dorothy Jean Wilkins was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Chapel. Visitation for friends and family to gather together will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, beginning at 6:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. Interment will follow the services in the Stone Hill Cemetery in Salem, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Dorothy's memory and honor.
