Dorothy Willis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jeane's Funeral Service - Leesville on Dec. 30, 2025.
A graveside service for Dorothy Ann Willis will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, Louisiana with Reverend Buddy Freeman officiating under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Willis, Michael Hewitt, Raymon Eaves, Brandon Eaves, Ellington Whitley, and Luther Brister Jr. Dorothy was born October 5, 1948, in Vidor, Texas and passed away December 29, 2025, in her home in Hornbeck, Louisiana at the age of 77. She lived in Hornbeck her entire life and graduated from Hornbeck High School in 1966. After marrying her husband, Jerry, on November 17, 1966, she happily worked to create a loving home for him and later for her son and grandchildren. They all enjoyed her cooking and were thankful for the many things so did for them such as sewing blankets for her grandchildren. Dorothy was a faithful Christian lady, and her family draws comfort knowing that they will see her again in Heaven. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father and mother (Willie Mae Jett); sister, Donna Abernathy; infant brother; and infant sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Jerry Willis of Hornbeck; son, Anthony Wayne Willis and wife Debbie of Hornbeck; grandchildren, Elizabeth Willis Eaves and husband Raymon, Mark Willis and wife Amanda, and Kristen Willis Hewitt and husband Michael; two great-grandbabies and one on the way; and a host of extended family members and friends.
