Dorothy Kennedy Wimmer, age 84, of
Pensacola, Florida and formerly of
London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.
She leaves behind seven children, Donna Hearn of Bedford, VA, Allen Keen of
Pensacola, FL, Billie Breeden of
Pensacola, FL, Paul Keen & wife Angelo of
Pensacola, FL, Juanita King & husband Dewayne of
Pensacola, FL, Crystal Keen of Cleveland, OH, Ronnie Keen & wife Courtney of Point Pleasant, WV; sixteen grandchildren, Michael, George Allen, Stacey, Steven, Kimberly, Samantha, Mary, Regina, Jimmy, CJ, Dorothy, Heather, Paul William, Jake, Tabitha, Paula; thirty-five great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Sandy Kennedy; a special granddaughter and caregiver, Emily Keen; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her one true love, George Keen; her parents, William "Bill" Kennedy and Juanita Beavers Kennedy; two brothers, Monroe Kennedy & Gable Kennedy; three grandchildren, T-Tom Hearn, Gable Hearn, Jacklynne Moore; and by her daughter-in-law, Melissa Keen.
Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and woman of unwavering faith who leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and joyful spirit. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with kindness and compassion.
In her younger years, Dorothy had a deep love for dancing. She danced with such enthusiasm and joy that she would often wear her shoes out, leaving her father no choice but to buy her new ones. That same vibrant spirit carried throughout her life, touching everyone who knew her.
Dorothy was a faithful churchgoer who loved attending services, reading her Bible, and traveling to visit other churches. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and guided her in all that she did. She also had a passion for serving others, volunteering and supporting the American Red Cross, where she found great purpose in helping those in need.
An avid Democrat, Dorothy was deeply engaged in her beliefs. She even traveled to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the campaign headquarters for President Bill Clinton, an experience she held with great pride.
Above all, Dorothy cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering.
The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to her beloved granddaughter, Emily, who selflessly stepped into the role of caregiver. Emily cared for Dorothy with remarkable love and dedication, never once complaining, and her kindness will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
Dorothy will be remembered for her lively spirit, her deep faith, her commitment to helping others, and the immense love she had for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service honoring Dorothy Kennedy Wimmer will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Owen Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky with David Sturdivant officiating. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
