Dorothy A. Wizimirski, 96, passed away on January 24, 2026. Daughter of the late John Szablewski and Louise Wyderka. Dear wife of the late Edmund J. Wizimirski(married 53 years). Beloved mother of Linda Haggerty and Ed Wizimirski (Angela). Also sadly missed by her granddaughters Brooke and Aubrey and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather beginning at 10 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St.Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. Funeral Mass 11 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Prior to children, Dorothy was a beautician & enjoyed the craft while working at Gimbels (Roosevelt Mall) & Charlie’s (Robbins Ave).
Dorothy loved her family & upon having children dedicated her time to raising them (always havingbreakfast, lunch & dinner prepared). She stressed Christian values and the importance of Sunday service and Godly living. She was kind, patient, gentle, caring with a wonderful sense of humor – her laugh was contagious (everything you could ask for in a mother).
Her son never left the house without an ironed shirt or pants. She waited by the door for her daughter to return from work and always had dinner ready (which included every food group). She kept her house spotless as well.
Her hobbies were dancing (polka waltz etc.), going to dinner shows, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, and listening to piano music. She loved having the entire family over for holidays & family gatherings. No one ever went hungry when you were in her house (she always made enough to feed an army).
In lieu of flowers you can make an offering to St Anselm’s Church 12670 Dunks Ferry Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154
