Dorrence "Don" O. Hess, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was born on August 21, 1940 in Meigs County, Ohio. Don was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He retired from Goodyear with 36 years of service. Dorrence was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and the Austin-Healey Club. He was an avid fisherman in both the United States and Canada. Don enjoyed reading everything and quoting Shakespeare. His favorite time was being with his wife, children and grandchildren. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna; children, Don (Yvonne) Hess, Phaedra Hess, and Amber Hess; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Britney) Hess and Aiden Hess; great-granddaughter coming soon. Winnie June Hess; brother, Eldred (Judy) Hess; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Don's funeral service will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Cecil Farmer officiating. Burial to follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National with military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: One of a Kind Pets, 1929 W. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44313.
