Dot Emogene Morton, 93, of Oak Hill, West Virginia, formerly of Dixie, was called home to Heaven, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia. Dot was born on March 28, 1932, to the late Cecil and Myrtle O'Dell.

Dot was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed walking the trails in Oak Hill, right up until she went into Hospice. She would easily walk 2 or more miles every day. She loved watching the birds and the squirrels, and would occasionally spot owls. Over the last 10 years, she hand-stiched hundreds of lap quilts and crib quilts to give away to whoever might want or need one. Dot loved singing hymns. She will be best remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dot was a lifelong member of Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger L. Morton; a son, Gary L. Morton; and her grandson, Joshua A. Arden.

Left to cherish her memory, a son, Alan Morton; a daughter, Julie (Burton, her 2nd son) Riddle; grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Morton, Megan McCallister, Matthew (Julia) Arden, Sheena (Joey) Salvia, and Angie (Shannon) Jones; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.

We will be forever grateful for her friend and caregiver over the past several years, Kathy Eskridge.

Special thanks to the staff at Bowers Hospice House for their professional and compassionate care.

Graveside services will be held at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow, West Virginia, in the Mausoleum Chapel on the Hill, at 12:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2025, with Pastor Jeffrey Floyd officiating, all friends and family are welcome.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations in her memory to Bowers Hospice House, PO Box 1472, Beckley, West Virginia 25802.
