Doug Eaves Obituary
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm in the funeral home's chapel with Pastor Mark Dellinger and Pastor Mike Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.
Doug was born on January 29th, 1937 in Bessemer City, NC. He was the son of the late Douglas Fred Eaves and Mary Elizabeth Millen and was the widower of Lillian Heffner Eaves. Doug served briefly in the US Army, worked in the Cotton Mills before retiring, and later served as an associate pastor. He attended Hickory Grove Church of God in Hickory Grove, SC.
Doug is survived by his daughters; Sirena White (Billy), Teresa Garvin, and Loretta Elliott; and son, Doug Eaves, Jr. (Krissi). He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and siblings: JC Eaves, Howard Eaves, David Eaves, Robert Eaves, Margie Glover, and Betty Brackett. In addition to his parents and wife, Doug was preceded in death by his grandson, Clayton Eaves; and his siblings: Howard Nance, Jane Shriner, Jerry Eaves, and Gene Eaves.
In memory of Doug Eaves, Sr. memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Church of God, PO Box 65 Hickory Grove, SC 29717 or to Midway Baptist Church, 12948 Hwy 55 York, SC 29745.
