Salisbury, North Carolina - Peggy W. Eaves "PJ" 84 of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 24, 2025. PJ was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on September 11, 1941. She was the daughter of Mary C. Rice Hamrick. She spent most of her life in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was a graduate of Myers Park High School. She married Stanley C. Eaves in September of 1962.

PJ was a faithful member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church for over sixty years. She served as a deacon, founded the Prayer Shawl Ministry, served on numerous committees, volunteered at Vacation Bible School, and volunteered with Crisis Assistance.

PJ was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Love of family and serving others meant more to her than worldly things. She enjoyed many hobbies over the years, including knitting, artwork, tennis, golf, and bridge. She loved spending time at the coast and in the mountains.

PJ is survived by her husband, Stanley Eaves; her children, Renee Eaves, Michelle Cook, Stan Eaves, II (Ashley); her grandchildren, Christopher Cook (Taylor), Austin Eaves, Grant Eaves, and Carter Cook; her step-grandchildren Winston Ladd, Dallas Scott (Phillip); her great grandson Wilson Cook; her step-granddaughter Ruthie Scott; and her beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Rice Hamrick, her son-in-law Allen Cook, and her beloved dog Bogie.

A Memorial Service will be held at Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, North Carolina on January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Josh Musser Gritter of First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury will be officiating the service.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the incredible team at Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus and Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab. Their compassion, dedication, and kindness provided PJ with comfort and dignity making her final days peaceful.

In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of PJ's generous heart, memorials can be made to Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus, Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab, or Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.
