With heavy hearts we announce the death of Douglas Gary Stow, who died peacefully on July 2, 2025, at Linley Park Post Acute Care. In the quiet moments of reflection and the beautiful music of the organ we shall carry Doug's memory with us as an inspiration to everyone who knew him as a humble, gentle, kind loving follower of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Linae Stow, his brother, Charles Eugene Stow, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Julia Meszaros. Survivors include his loving wife, Marcia Stow; sister-in-law, Diane Stow of Gainesville, GA, sister-in-law, Jeanette Perusini (Dale) of Edmonton, brother-in-law, Ron Meszaros of Langley, B.C.; six nephews, Corby Stow, Andrew Stow, Greg Meszaros, Jeff Meszaros, Darin Perusini, and Darsi Perusini; several great nephews and great nieces; and dear friends, Scott Atkins and Shirley Hench Crow. Doug graduated from Gainesville (GA) High School, The University of Georgia with a bachelor's in music, and The University of Michigan with a masters in organ performance. He served as organist and music associate at First Baptist Church of Anderson for 38 years and Young Memorial Church in Anderson for 8 years. An organ concert to celebrate Doug's life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Boulevard Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Linley Park Staff and Hospice of the Upstate for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boulevard Baptist Church Music Ministry, 700 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
