Marsha Brooks Obituary

On the evening of September 27, 2025, Marsha Ann Lowman Brooks fell asleep in death at the age of 92, leaving behind a family that cherished her dearly.

She was born in Smithville, Missouri, on June 5, 1933, where she was a welcome addition to Marshall and Merle Lowman, later to be joined by her sister, Martha, and their brother, John. At the age of 8, she had the desire to dedicate herself to Jehovah as one of his witnesses. Her mother and grandfather felt she understood the choice she was making and allowed her to be baptized. Her father died when she was 14, making her grow up quickly as she assisted her mom with the help of her grandfather, Ellis Murphy, and the Lowman family.

At a convention of Jehovah's witnesses in Kansas City, she met Hulon Brooks from Anderson, SC and soon married. They had four children, Karan, Jan, Patti, and Stan. The kids soon had kids of their own, Courtney, Candace, Geoffrey, Michael, and Myles. To be followed by great-grands, Mackenzie, Lillian, and Jasmine, and great-great grands, Evangeline and John. Marsha (Mom) was an expert wiper of tears and a world class kisser of boo boos. She loved her family, and they never doubted it. She took delight in being the gracious hostess; No one goes away hungry! Just as much as she loved us, she loved sharing her wonderful hope for the future with others. She made time in her busy schedule to conduct home bible studies and to help others as well as her children to love her heavenly Father as she did. She may not be with us in the flesh now, but her example will always be in our heart.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1401 East Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621. The service will be live streamed via Zoom Meeting ID: 81117175958 password: NWT2013
