Douglas Robert Barberi

BARRE TOWN – Douglas Robert Barberi, 72, of Barre Town, VT, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2024, at his home.
"Dougie" as we all called him, came into this world on June 12, 1952, and was born to Robert and Betty Barberi. He was educated in Barre, graduating from Spaulding High School in 1971 and attended Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT. Doug was a member of the football team, the wrestling team, and the rifle team during his four years of high school.
His love for shooting carried over to his adult years where he spent many hours at shooting ranges all throughout Vermont and New Hampshire, also participating in many shooting competitions. One of Dougie's greatest enjoyments was going to the family hunting camp in the fall with his family. First with his father as a young boy, then with his brother John and all their combined friends and family and eventually with John's boys Justin, Kale, and Chaz and their friends and families. Hunting camp held a special place in Dougie's heart and his stories and memories will continue to be told to the younger generations for many, many years.
Doug spent his entire working years as a licensed electrician working for various companies throughout his career. He retired in 2017.
Doug was predeceased in death by his father Robert in 2016. He is survived by his mother Betty and his siblings John (Jean) Barberi, Karen (Jim) Culver and Lisa (Todd) Gariboldi, along with his nieces and nephews Justin, Kelsey, Kale, Chaz, Ceire, Zachary, Kylie, Brynn, Chris, Matt, Payton, Crosse, and his many grandnieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
