Douglas Bramow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on Oct. 19, 2022.
Douglas Dean Bramow Jr., 42, of Marion, Iowa passed on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his home. A private family graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Doug is survived by his wife and best friend, Melanie Viner-Bramow; his three children, James Viner, Jessica Viner, and Johannah Swiser; his in-laws, Michael and Julia Viner; sister-in-law, Michelle Viner, and her children, Megan, Morgan, and Matthew; his father, Douglas (Debra) Bramow Sr.; sister, Carlee Carnahan; brother, Cameron Bramow; his mother, Pamela; his maternal siblings, Maxi, Samantha, and Mark; cousins, Jason Hall and Danny Bramow (who were like brothers to him) and Jenna Bramow, Josie Sterk, and Barb Bright; along with many loving cousins, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his cousin and life-long best friend, Joey Sterk, and Tim Nelson.
Doug Dean Bramow was born on February 23, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Jefferson High School with the class of 1998 and continued his education at Kirkwood Community College. Doug earned his Horticulture and Botany degree. He was a member of the local Carpenters Union for many years.
Doug and Melanie met later in life and knew they were instant soulmates. They became best friends and partners in life. Doug and Melanie were married on March 17, 2017. The love they had for each other was not seen often. Doug had large shoes to fill as he was privileged and honored to have an amazing relationship like Mike and Julia Viner.
Doug was a "jack of all trades" and was always up for a "good deal". He loved technology, tinkering with gadgets, tearing stuff apart to figure out how it worked, the outdoors; especially fishing with friends and family. Doug was proud of the family he created, and all the accomplishments his children achieved. He lived life to the fullest and always made others laugh and smile. Doug was a very caring person, and always tried to help everyone in any way possible. He will be greatly missed!
A special thank you to his friends who he considered family, Keith Spawn (Ginger Smith), Kenny Westbrook, Brett "Boda" Neal, Rodney Schoon, Jenaya Mason, and Danielle Kendrick.
