Brier, Douglas Gary - age 60 of Swartz Creek, passed away to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on September 26, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Swartz Creek Community Church located at 7400 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan with Pastor Dan Bowman officiating. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Doug to the Swartz Creek Community Church.
Doug was born on April 15, 1965 in Flint, Michigan to Gary Lavern and Lucinda Kay (Titsworth) Brier. He is a 1983 graduate of Swartz Creek High School where he was played in the marching and pep bands. Doug sang in the choir, played the bells and was an active member of the Swartz Creek Community Church. He was known to be a "handyman" that could fix most anything and helped many people with various projects. Doug enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and tinkering in his garage.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle (Curtis Patnaude) Brier of Hollister, FL. Mother, Lucinda Brier of Swartz Creek. Sister, Theresa Ewald of Flint Township. Niece, Janelle (Joe) Chapman of Flushing and nephew, Nathaniel (Margaret) Spires of Montrose. Great nephews and great niece, Liam, Charlotte and Emmett. Aunts, Phyllis Tiesworth and Carol Brier. Doug is also survived by his furry companion, Sheldon and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and many aunts and uncles.
