Douglas “Doug” Eugene Edwards, 54, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.
Doug’s family will celebrate his life privately.
Doug was born June 9, 1970, in Pitt County, NC, to the late Bertice Ray Edwards Sr. and Edith Louise Edwards. His family is comforted by the fact that he is now reunited with them and at peace.
Doug’s skills were seen through his mechanical work on cars and various construction projects. Living on the coast, Doug thoroughly enjoyed fishing. He always had a passion for music, was a great singer, and always enjoying the rhythm of a good tune. When you saw Doug, he more than likely had his favorite drink, Mountain Dew, in hand.
Doug was a true adventurer at heart, forever seeking the next thrill. He enjoyed watching ghost hunting, loved the excitement of the unknown and exploring the supernatural. His family will forever remember his zest for life and his penchant for choosing the unconventional path which they lovingly refer to as the "wrong things". It was that adventurous spirit that filled his journey with excitement and laughter.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Tania Edwards; daughters, Gloria Edwards (Robbie Allen) of Newport, NC and Katherine Edwards (James King) of Ayden, NC; sons, Steven Edwards (Derrika) and Joseph Edwards, all of Morehead City, NC; 3 sisters; 1 brother; grandchildren, Ava Hemby, Ryan Hemby, JessaLyn Hemby, Joshua “JJ” Allen, Madison Allen, and Kobe Edwards; mother-in-law, Peggy Lewis (Jack) of Morehead City, NC.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bruce Edward Bunting.
