Born in Gaffney he was the son of Gaynell Hughey Fitzgerald and the late James William Fitzgerald.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his significant other, Cheryl Crosby; four daughters: Breanna Coyle, Stasha Fitzgerald, Ruby Fitzgerald, and Emma Fitzgerald; a son, Mason Fitzgerald; two grandchildren; a brother, Allen Fitzgerald; and a sister, Wanda Parker.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at 3:00pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Douglas Fitzgerald Funeral Fund, c/o Gordon Mortuary, 211 E. Frederick St, Gaffney, SC 29340.
