Douglas Burton Gillespie

Douglas was born on October 11, 1926 and passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Douglas was a resident of Bluefield, Virginia at the time of his passing. He was proud of his service to his country in the US Navy from 1944-1946 serving on the USS Nantahala. He was married to Virginia. A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday June 14 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Gary Lyons officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memory Mausoleum where the VFW Post 9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post 14 will conduct Military Grave Rites. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Graham Christian Church Joash Fund 1101 Virginia Avenue Bluefield VA 24605.
