Douglas "Doug" S. Holcomb, age 77, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was a proud member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge #603, F&AM, and the American Legion. He dedicated more than 33 years of service as a skilled diesel mechanic and electrician for CARTA.
An avid outdoorsman, Doug found joy in nature and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog. He was also a passionate Tennessee Vols fan-Go Vols!
Doug was born to the late Herman and Earline Holcomb. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Pat Holcomb; his son, Zack Holcomb, and daughter-in-law, Lori Holcomb; his daughter, April Bailey, and her husband, Rodney Bailey; his sister, Angie Dillon, and her husband, Arnold; his grandsons, Hayden Holcomb, John David Holcomb, and Emory Holcomb; his great-grandson, Hudson Holcomb; and his faithful black Labrador, Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery, including military honors.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Educational Society.
