Douglas Anthony Hughes born 11/24/1966, age 58 of Milledgeville Ga entered into rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 7, 2025 at his residence in Milledgeville, Ga., after a long battle of cancer.
Friends & Family time will be held at Moores Funeral Home on Monday November 10th from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Patrick Rainey officiating.
Doug was predeceased by his parents Don and Reba Hughes of Milledgeville, GA., and one nephew, Curt Burris of Milledgeville. He is survived by his two daughters Taylor Rebecca Tucker and Tori Dawn Tucker both of Commerce, GA., and his sister, Debra Roberts (Gary) of Milledgeville, GA.
Doug was a member of First Baptist Church in Milledgeville. Doug received a degree from Macon Technical College in HVAC in 1988. He was also a business owner contractor in HVAC, and a Vocational Instructor with the State of Ga. He retired from the State of Ga as a HVAC technician in 2015.
A very special thank you to Family Hospice & Staff (Madison Smith, Marshall Hodgman and Chaplain Peggy Pulliam) in Milledgeville, Ga. for your exceptional tender care that went far and beyond all of our expectations. Also, thank you to Mrs. Leslie Nelson with Affinis Hospice for your prayers, your love, your friendship and support while Doug was in Chaplainwood Nursing Home. A very special thanks to Dr. Roy Deen and staff for your loving kindness and to Medical Arts Pharmacy, you are all the best! To Deidra Cooper, thank you so very much for not only your friendship, but for all of the many hours of sleepless nights helping me care of my brother, and for your unwavering love you have shown me and Doug thru his battle of cancer this last month. You were truly an Angel sent from God. And, last but not least, Thank you to Andy Waddell for the beautiful music you provided for Doug's service.
And, to our family and friends thank you for all your prayers, food, visits and phone calls during Doug's time of sickness.
In lieu of flowers, and food, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Atlanta Ga. You can donate online, or call (800) 213-6584, or mail a check to: Memorial Giving 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.
If you mail a check, please include a memorial fund name of the individual that the gift is in memory of.
