Mr. Townsend was born in Milledgeville, Georgia on February 26, 1946, to the late James Frank Townsend and Mary Louise Stanley Townsend. He worked at Wilkinson Used Cars for many years. He was preceded in death by a sister Edna Prosser and a granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Townsend and a great grandson Mason Gage Gardner.
Survivors include his wife Judith Townsend, a son James Frank Townsend, III, two daughters Lorri Woodall (Scott) and Mary Fergerson (John) his sister Patricia Wilkinson all of Milledgeville, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
