Douglas Scott Isaac

Douglas Scott Isaac, age 69, of Millville, DE, formally of Northern VA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Beebe Hospital Lewes, DE. Doug was born in Gallipolis, OH on December 8, 1953, son of Ben Alexander Isaac and Virginia Marie Gunn) Isaac.
Doug is survived by his wife, Diane (Stepp) and daughter, Marisa Cooley and her husband, Ryan of Leesburg, Virginia. He leaves sister-in-law, Dawn Kraucunas and her husband, Paul of Morehead City, NC; Sister, Donna Blosser (b-I-l Fred Blosser) of Austin, TX; sister, Denise Heflin (b-I-l Mike Heflin) of Fairfax, VA; brother, David Isaac (s-I-l Marsha) of The Villages, FL. Doug also leaves a group of nieces and nephews cherished by him).
Doug retired from Washington Gas after 33 years before he became self employed as a Virginia licensed driving instructor, Commonwealth Driving School, for 11 years.
Doug retired again and along with his wife, Diane, moved to Millville, DE to enjoy Bethany Beach. Doug was active in his Millville by the Sea community, served as team captain of the area's Senior Billiard League, and Lord Baltimore's Lion's Club. Doug's passion was fishing and talking about his catch any opportunity that came along. He never missed a time to drive his family on the beach and fish. Lastly, Doug believed in and supported animal rescue along with Diane.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may gather after 1 PM. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Doug's name to Millville Volunteer Fire Company, 35554 Atlantic Ave., Millville, DE 19967.
