Douglas "Doug" Mitchell Logston, 57, born in Bowling Greeng, Ohio on December 28, 1967, passed from this world on July 26, 2025 in the presence of loving family and friends. If you were blessed to know Doug, you know he was a friend to all, easily connecting and conversing about favorite music, food and The City of Toledo. Doug was known for being a steady voice, and thoughtful listener, mentor, and lifelong friend to those who knew him.

Doug graduated from Eastwood High School and attended Bowling Green State University, where he studied music education and was in The Falcon Marching Band. As a lifelong lover of the marching arts, Doug was an avid participant and follower of Drum Corps International. He participated in The Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, marching tenor drums in 1985, and serving as the snare section leader from 1986-1987. From 1988-1989, Doug marched Lead Baritone at The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. From 1994-1995, he joined The Cavaliers instructional visual staff, helping the corp take top honors by winning the DCI World Championships. Rounding out his involvement, in 1996-1998, Doug served as the Executive Director/CEO of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, where he helped lead them to their first ever DCI World Championship. DCI had a lasting impact on Doug and continued to be an interest of his throughout his life.

Doug found his career working with many high school bands throughout the Toledo area, including Maumee and Rossford Bands. Serving as a drill and show designer, and percussion advisor, Doug engaged students and educators alike, sharing his expertise and passion for music. In addition, Doug has served as a Marketing/Product Consultant to the Drillmaster Corporation as the developer of the world's first patented marching shoe.

As a Pioneer of downtown living in The City of Toledo, Doug was one of the original residents of the then newly transformed Commodore Perry. Doug was often seen at the Toledo farmers market, attending Mud Hens and Walleye games (free chili!), and at one of the many coffee shops and restaurants downtown.

Doug is survived by sister; Nora (Troy) Rodenberger of Haskins. Brothers: Jim (Karla) Logston of FL, and Dan Logston of Toledo. Sister-in-law; Tamie Logston of Waterville, nephews: Troy J. Rodenberger, Jason Rodenberger, Robert (Sharon) Logston Jr., Noah Logston, and Donovan Logston. Nieces: Tara Logston, Emily Logston, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Special friends Justin, Emily, Scott, Don, Bill, Rob and Aaron. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 22552 Carter Road Bowling Green, OH (Dowling) Monday August 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made "In memory of Doug Logston" to The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps via https://fundraise.givesmart.com/form/h_64EA?vid=1ks0cx.
