Douglas Charles Luisi Sr.

Douglas Charles Luisi Sr., 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 4, 2025 at Spring Village where he resided for the past two years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Paul Luisi and the late Sarah Fletcher. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Agnes Luisi.

He honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

After being raised in Brooklyn, Douglas went on to work and live in Queens before spending the past thirty years in the Poconos.

He was a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and clinical addiction counselor who was passionate about his work and ministries. He dedicated the first part of his career counseling at risk youth at Bethesda Day Treatment Center and the second half of his career was dedicated to adults in recovery at Pocono Mountain Recovery Center. He was also a leader of Celebrate Recovery Ministry. He motivated and impacted all those he came into contact with.

Outside of his ministries and career he was an avid fisherman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. He will forever hold a special place in the heart of his wife and was especially beloved by his son and daughter.

In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly remembered by his surviving children: Douglas C. Luisi Jr. And Jessica, wife of Aaron Davis; grandchildren: Angelina, Sarah and her husband Aaron, Kyle, Nathan, and Isaiah; a great-grandchild on the way; a sister, Debbie, wife of Richard Dana, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents and a son, Jason Luisi.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at 3PM at Innovation Church 6048 Paradise Valley Rd, Cresco, PA 18326. Burial with military honors will be private at the request of the family. Flowers can kindly be sent directly to the church.
