Doug, or “Rusty” to his family, was born on October 2, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee the son of Judith Warren and Sam Douglas Martin. He spent many years working in the food and beverage division of several hotels, including Opryland and Marriott. Before retiring, he became a motorcoach operator and was able to travel throughout North America with various groups and people. He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others, driving, fishing, and spending time near the water, especially on the beach at Tybee Island, GA.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, from 1 P.M. until 3 P.M. with a Memorial Service following at 3 PM, officiated by Rev. Lynn Strother Hinkle at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN 37115.
