Douglas Wayne Menchhofer, age 73 of Celina, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at his residence in Celina. He was born on September 27, 1951 to the late Cletus Jr. and Imogene (Canary) Menchhofer in Celina at the Otis Building. On February 4, 1981 he married Shelia Murray who survives in Celina. He is also survived by his loving children David (Skylar) Menchhofer of Celina, Nathan (Mary) Cassada of Celina, Jennifer (Brett) Godown of Greenville, Crystal (Shaun) Curtis of Celina, grandchildren Madelynn Menchhofer of Celina, Kaileb Curtis of Celina, Bryson Curtis of Celina, Lydia Cassada of Celina, Reagan Cassada of Celina, Logan Godown of Greenville, DJ Godown of Greenville, siblings Shirley (Denny) Kunk of Celina, Brenda Menchhofer of Troy, and Richard Menchhofer of Celina.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Ferguson, brothers Dennis Menchhofer, Ronald Menchhofer, Donald Menchhofer, mother of David, Verna Mae Menchhofer, granddaughter Adeline Godown, and grandson Logan Cassada.
Douglas graduated from Celina High School with the class of 1971. He worked at Pax Valco in Coldwater for 30 years and he retired in 2021. Doug loved football, gardening, fishing, farming, and playing horseshoe. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and enjoyed helping others.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League of Mercer County P.O. Box 663 Celina, Ohio 45822. Condolences may be shared with the Menchhofer family online at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
