Douglas W. Middleton of Mount Holly, formerly of Medford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 21st at his home. He was 80. Born in Mount Holly, Doug was a longtime area resident. He was a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam. After his honorable discharge he worked as a construction electrician with IBEW Local 351. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Medford and a member of the Medford VFW. He also enjoyed making a BJ's run and going to the gym and working out. He enjoyed gardening and bringing his vegetables especially tomatoes to his neighbors and friends. Doug was known for his humor, kindness, and the ability to bring joy to those around him. He had a gift of making people laugh, even in the most unexpected ways. One of his favorites pastimes was answering telemarketers in his best Donald Duck voice. When they would ask, "Is this Doug Middleton?' he would quickly reply, "Who is Doug? This is Donald Duck!" He would speak to all children when Donald Duck was more popular (his kids and grandchildren were used to it) But other kids would be totally shocked when he would speak to them in his Donald Duck voice. The patriarch of the family and the husband of the late Candace, he is survived by his daughter Charity Middleton; step-daughter Kimberly Lopez; grandchildren: Alyssa, Cotye, & Leylene; great-grandchildren: Ryker and Koa. He is also survived by his brothers: Kenneth of MO and Andrew of Medford, NJ; and a sister Beth Cowper of California and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 28th at 10:30 am at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm and on Thursday from 10-10:30am at the Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Due to cemetery restrictions on flowers, please do not send flowers.
