Douglas F. Myers, 72, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024.
He was born March 22, 1952, in Lexington, NC, a son of the late Charles and Millie Ree (Hanes) Myers.
Doug brought his family from Lexington, NC to Myrtle Beach, SC in 1985. He had a great love of the beach, fishing, shrimping, and anything water related. He was also a huge fan of all types of music, attending Merlefest, listening to KPIG and constantly quizzing his family on the subject.
Doug grew up just up the road from Lexington (Honey Monk) Barbecue and had a knack for the art of pig cooking. He brought that talent to the beach and helped celebrate many occasions with friends and family while standing by his cooker. Following his retirement, Doug took up watercolor painting. He was a gifted artist in his youth and he liked to share his paintings with family. He was an amazing husband and his family brought him great joy.
He is survived by Joanne Jordan Myers, his wife of 26 years, daughter Leslie Myers Anderson (husband Jason), daughter Lyndie Myers Cribb (husband Ashely), grandchildren Charlotte, Jay, Ava and James Anderson, grandchildren Millie and Charlie Cribb, brother-in-law David Jordan. He is also survived by dear cousins and his many friends.
Doug is predeceased by his brothers, Charles Myers, Jr. and Gary Myers.
The family will have a small celebration of life in the future.
