Doug was born on October 22, 1962 to Robert (Bob) and Joyce (Bihrer) Phillips. He graduated from Southeast Polk High School Where he played football and baseball. He worked in various roles before joining Plumb Supply May of 1982. Doug and Leanne married in their backyard on October 7, 2023.
A passionate fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. Doug loved history of any kind, his little buddy Thor, and playing his PS5 football game, and spending time with his wife. Doug also loved to travel especially to Las Vegas & historical sites.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Doug is survived by his wife, Leanne; three children Stephanie Miller, Jake Phillips, and Samantha (Justin) Clark; two stepsons
Huntur (Samantha) Matthews and Mason (Erika Culver) Matthews. Three grandchildren Charlotte, Boone and Hadleigh. Two brothers Randy (Pam) Phillips, Greg (Cheryl) Phillips and a sister Kim (Monty) Banks and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines.
