Rose Bock Obituary
Rose was born July 2,1936, to Pauline (Werner) and Leo J. Michels in Meyer, Iowa. Rose was a teacher after college. Her daughters were lucky to have her stay home with them during their formative years. Rose then worked at CIGNA Insurance as an Underwriter and then Marsh McLennan, where she enjoyed working until her retirement as a Senior Account Manager. During this time, she earned her CPCU Designation.
In 1960, Rose married Dale William Bock at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll, Iowa. They made their home in Des Moines and later Clive where they raised their daughters, Melissa, Elizabeth and Laura. While her children were attending St. Theresa and Dowling schools, Rose served on the St. Theresa Board of Education and was active in PTC, Girl Scouts and volunteer projects. During retirement she continued to be involved in various volunteer opportunities.
She loved her garden, reading, taking long walks, coffee with friends, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
Rose is survived by daughters Melissa (Perry) Singer of Highland Village, TX and Laura Bock of Des Moines, grandsons Ben Singer of Austin, TX, and Jake Singer of McKinney, TX and sister Jean Brandt.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Dale and daughter Elizabeth, brothers Leo and Robert Michels, sisters Joan Hemann, Ann Marsolek, and Germaine Michels.
