Douglas E. "Doug" Pugh, 81, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Dec. 22, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. Doug was the loving husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Sweeney) Pugh, his wife of 58 years.

He was born Sept. 1, 1944, at Rosenkranz Hospital in East Stroudsburg, son of the late Robert and Frances (Tilby) Pugh.

Doug graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and had a long career in real estate and sales, where he was employed by Re/Max of the Poconos.

Doug and Peggy lived at Lake Manzanedo, in Price Township, and later moved to LaBar Village, in Stroudsburg. They spent many winters at their second home in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Doug loved to travel and especially enjoyed trips to the Galapagos Islands and Costa Rica. He and Peggy enjoyed 15 cruises together.

In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by his daughter, Regina Baxter; grandsons, Brendan and Luke Baxter; brothers-in-law Jack, Bert and Paul Sweeney; sisters-in-law Noreen Sweeney, Anne Sweeney O'Donnell, Mary Turley, Joan Sweeney, Kathy Warner and Susan Henning; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was predeceased by his parents; his older brother, Bob Pugh; sister-in-law Lois Pugh; and his beloved daughter, Roxanne Pugh.

Services will be Saturday, January 3, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with the visitation to begin at 1:00 pm followed by the memorial service at 2:00 pm.

Memorial donations in Doug's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
