Douglas B. Rezin, age 74, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, September 8, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and fifth generation cranberry grower, he lived a life on the marsh with deep connection to the land and people around him. He had a positive attitude toward life that helped him survive and thrive over years of physical challenges.
A memorial service will be held Saturday September 13, 2025, at 11:00am at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will take place from 9:00am until the time of service. The burial will immediately follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Born in Wisconsin Rapids on July 6, 1951, Doug spent his days working the cranberry marsh, where he felt most at home-driving through the bogs, watching the berries ripen under the sun, and taking pride in the harvests that marked his legacy. He loved the color red, not just for its boldness, but for the way it mirrored the fruit he nurtured. The Cranmoor Cranberry trucks are always red for that very reason.
He was a passionate sports fan, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers with unwavering loyalty. Game days were sacred, filled with excitement, snacks, and a very loud TV. An ideal fall day meant that he could watch football while he had a fire roaring in the background. He also had a deep appreciation for old cars and trucks. His garages were filled with antiques in various states of completion. He loved showing off his car/truck collection to any who was interested.
His love of the outdoors extended far beyond Wisconsin. He cherished his hunting trips to Texas, where he could hunt with his sons and grandsons. Although he loved being on the marsh, he also enjoyed traveling to some favorite spots like Destin, FL, Jackson Hole, WY and to Palm Springs to visit his brother.
Just weeks ago, he celebrated 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife Debbie-a milestone marked by laughter, memories, and the enduring partnership they built together. Their love was the foundation of a family that includes four children and seven grandchildren.
Doug will be remembered for his love for his wife and family, his deep appreciation for the marsh, and his favorite dog Vinnie.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Heather (Tim) McKellips, Ben, Matt (Steph) and Jess (Kat); and grandchildren, Connor, Ethan and Finnegan McKellips, Josephine and Rowyn Rezin, and Gwen and Sydney Rezin.
