Phillip "Phil" Frank Rezin, 85, of Rockford, passed away on July 10, 2025. He was born on April 29, 1940, in Chicago, the son of George and Irma (Vyhnalek) Rezin. Phil graduated from Round Lake High School where he met and married the love of his life, Mary Irvin, on March 28, 1959, in Waukegan. He worked as a union carpenter for 30 plus years.

Phil would break into song at any moment and was a blessing to all he met. He enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, golfing and fishing with his family, and never turned down a trip to the casino. He found God and blossomed in his faith as a member of many Chrisitan Churches in the areas he and Mary lived in. He was a loving and hardworking dad, pops, big papa, and brother.

He is survived by those who loved him most, sons, Dr. Keith (Senator Sue) Rezin of Morris, IL; Phil (Christy) Rezin of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Dan (Tami) Rezin of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Nate (Ashley) Rezin, Tory Rezin, Alexa (Joel) Spalding, Zach Rezin, Ryan Rezin, Jeffrey (Courtney) Rezin, Renee (Zach) Lenth, Cara (Nick) Nielsen, Casie (Henry) Navarre, Phil (Amanda) Rezin, Will (Emily) Rezin, Jenae (Omar) Stover, and Callie (Tyler) Every; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Rezin; and cat, Tootie. He is predeceased by his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years, Mary; parents, George and Irma; daughter-in-law, Teresa Rezin; brother, Russell Rezin; and sister, Mary Olivares-Garner.

A special thank you to the care team at Peterson Meadows for their wonderful care of Phil.
