April 29, 1941 - June 15, 2024
Roxboro, North Carolina - Colonel Douglas C. Robinson, USAF Retired, 83, passed on Saturday, June 15, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Col. Robinson was born in Durham, April 1941 to the late George C. and Frances Carter Robinson.
Doug is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy; one son, Chris and wife Wendy; two grandchildren, Danielle Butler (Neal) of Avon, IN and Wyatt Robinson (Cydney) of Timberlake; four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Cayson Robinson and Olivia and Wesley Butler.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday at Long Memorial United Methodist Church, 226 S. Main St., Roxboro, NC, 27573 by the Rev. Ed Priestaf and the Rev. Ross Carter. Burial with military rites will follow in Burchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-7:30PM Thursday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org/donate/, Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org, or a charity of one's choice.

Col Robinson, a Major back when we worked together at Davis Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. He was the MMS Squadron Commander and I his First Sergeant. I was always impressed by his knowledge and eagerness to get the job done and to do it correctly. He led by example and was liked by all. He was a great man, a real credit to the US Air Force which he loved, and the Munitions Career he excelled in. RIP Sir. You have done a great service to our nation. I am proud to have known and worked with you

I served under Col Robinson with the 4450th Tactical Group in the early stages of the then secret F-117 Stealth Fighter. I remember the colonel always making his rounds thru the hangers and taking the time to talk with the troops. Fly high Colonel Robinson!
