Doug Stenglein, 82, passed away on March 15, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 23, at 1:00 PM at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Billings. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, from 5-6 PM with a rosary/prayer service at 6:00 PM at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Douglas John Stenglein was born on December 10, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joseph and Eric and Lauretta Clara (Herring) Stenglein. He grew up in Elk River, Minnesota, until his family moved to Virginia City, Montana in 1960. He graduated from Ennis High School in 1961, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in May 1961, serving four years as a Titan Missile maintainer at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, Washington, until May 1965 when he was honorably discharged.

While in the Air Force, he met his bride to be on a blind date in Mabton, Washington. Doug married Alice Caroline Rabie on October 9, 1965, in Grandview, Washington. They were blessed with three children, David Lawrence, Brian Joseph, and Deborah Kay (Bronner).

After leaving the service, Doug took a job at Farmer's Union in Grandview, later moving to Wilson Creek, Washington. In 1967, Doug and Alice moved to Circle, Montana, where he managed the Traveler's Inn Restaurant with his father. In 1970, they moved to Yakima, Washington, where Doug began his 29-year career with CENEX as a marketing rep. During that time the family moved to Portland, Oregon, then to Glasgow, Montana, and eventually to Billings, Montana, where he retired in January 1999.

Doug and Alive Traveled after retirement, visiting the country and their family. He enjoyed many hobbies, including golf and bowling, and was active in the Knights of Columbus. He always enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.

Doug is survived by his wife, Alice Stenglein; sons, David (Beverly), Brian (Lisa); daughter, Deborah (Curtis) Bronner; grandchildren; Jessica (Adnan) Chowdhury, Caden (Jessica) Kiedrowski, Mark Stenglein, Paul Stenglein, Jake Kiedrowski, and Ella Kiedrowski; great grandchild, Juniper Kiedrowski; sister Paula Duffield; brothers Joseph (Rose) and Timothy (Michelle), and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lauretta Stenglein; sister, Mary Madler; and brothers, Thomas and Daniel.
