Bell Tower Funeral Home & Crematory - Post FallsJoseph Stephen Stenglein was born September 25, 1946 and graduated to his eternal home on February 2, 2026 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his son Christopher Stenglein. II Corinthians 5:8 says We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Joe is more ALIVE now than ever!
He is survived by his daughter Valerie Ellis (Rick) Grandchildren Brandon, Nathaniel and Emma. Brother Thomas Stenglein (Marilyn), Sisters Kathleen Gustafson and Jane Bergmann (Bob).
Joe became part of the family of Jeff and Carla Floyd and Thomas and Elizabeth Yarbrough and they had the privilege to share Christ and life together over the last 20+ years. Joe is a beloved friend to all who knew him.
Joe had 2 beloved dogs. Louie 1 and Louie 2. Louie 2 walked with Joe into Glory on Feb 2nd.
Joe served in the Marine Corp 1966-1969. Joe served in the Vietnam war and was wounded in battle. He received the Purple heart medal in 1968 along with National Defense Medal, Good conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal W/3* and Sharp Shooter Badge.
Joe worked as a Machinist over the years. He loved to fly his plane, Lived on a boat, Hunt and fish and Shoot guns. Joe competed in IDPA, Three Gun and other shooting sports.
Joe was an active member of Athol Baptist Church where he loved, protected and served his family in Christ. Joe attended 2 Bible Studies weekly and enjoyed the fellowship of his brothers in Christ.
Joe was especially fond of eating out and his favorite places the last few years were Country Boy Cafe and Sweet Lou's in Athol. The staff always enjoyed serving Joe and his family and friends as they enjoyed the good food.
Joe was a quiet but thoughtful and carrying man. He is loved and missed by many already. Until we meet in heaven Dad, Brother, Grandpa, Uncle, Friend - We all LOVE you!
